- And I'm here in Iowa today, and I'll be back a little bit later next week. And I don't have anything to announce today, but I can tell you, when I got time to announce come this Wednesday, I'm announcing in Iowa.
I believe we have to resist the politics of personality and the siren song of populism unmoored to timeless conservative principles. And we need to stand firm on the conservative agenda of life and liberty and a commitment to freedom that has always led us to victory.
- And we need to dispense with the culture of losing that has beset the Republican Party in recent years. Iowa shows it can be done. Florida shows it can be done. We had red waves in 2022. The rest of the country, not so much.
So as president, I will be an energetic executive. I will go on offense. I will lean in to all the issues that matter. We will reverse Biden's disastrous economic policies that are causing working people to lose ground and erode their standard of living.
- Our nation faces one of the greatest threats we've seen in my lifetime. It is this culture of grievance and the drug of victimhood that is spreading like a cancer across this nation. America is not a land of oppression. America is the land of opportunity, without any question.
[CHEERS, APPLAUSE]
We must celebrate our founding fathers for the geniuses that they were and never, never cancel our founding fathers.
- We will go back to remain in Mexico because guess what? Nobody wants to remain in Mexico. We will keep the provisions of Title 42 and instead of catch and release, we will start to catch and deport.
[CHEERS, APPLAUSE]
And we will make sure when it comes to our national security that countries know what we expect of them. We will no longer be reactionary. When I was at the United Nations, there were two things that I knew Russia, China, Iran never wanted us to have.
They never wanted us to have a strong military, and they never wanted us to be energy independent. We will do both of those. Strong militaries don't start wars. Strong militaries prevent wars.
- And I'm running for president because Joe Biden's policy are the wrong direction for America. People ask me, what would you do on your first day in office? I'll sign an executive order reversing Biden's executive orders.
[CHEERS, APPLAUSE]
He's wrong on spending. Too much federal spending. He's wrong on border security. He's wrong on energy policy. We need a pro-growth energy policy in this country, which means that our president is not going to have to go to Saudi Arabia or Venezuela and say, can you please produce more oil?
