THE VP OF FITNESS PROGRAMING AND HEAD INSTRUCTOR PELOTON IS NOW LOOKING TO MOTIVATE THE NEXT GENERATION WITH HER THIRD STRONG BABY TRACKING THE FIRST MILESTONES OF A BABY'S LIFE USING HER SIGNATURE MANTRAS AS MOTIVATION. >> ROBIN, WELCOME TO THE SHOW. THANKS FOR HAVING ME. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT STRONG BABY FIRST, BECAUSE YOU'VE SHOWN MAMA AND STRONG BABY . CONGRATULATIONS. THANK YOU. YOU TALKED ABOUT THE IDEA OF WANTING KIDS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH MOVEMENT. >> AND SO WHAT ARE YOU HOPING THAT PARENTS AND KIDS TAKE AWAY FROM STRONG BABY ? I MEAN, WHY WAIT FOR US TO DISCOVER THAT WE ARE CAPABLE OF BEING STRONG? I THINK THAT'S A CONCEPT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IN MYSELF UNTIL ADULTHOOD. AND I DIDN'T WANT TO WAKE HIM UP ONCE I BECAME A PARENT AND I LOOKED AT HOW MY DAUGHTER WAS DEVELOPING, I THOUGHT, I DON'T WANT TO WAIT. I DON'T WANT HER TO WAIT. SO I REALLY WROTE STRONG BABY IN CELEBRATION OF THE STRENGTH IN LITTLE ONES. AND SO WHAT CAN PARENTS DO? BECAUSE, OF COURSE, PARENTS WANT THEIR KIDS TO BE STRONG, BUT THEY'RE THINKING, WELL, SHOULD I HAVE THEM TRIED TO SET UP TO WHAT? WELL, THE GOOD THING IS THAT KIDS THROUGH PLAY ARE GOING TO FIND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH MOVEMENT. I THINK JUST CREATING THE CAPACITY FOR PLAY IN OUR HOUSEHOLD, ENCOURAGING. MY HUSBAND, MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE KITCHEN DANCE PARTIES. AND SO, LIKE, THAT'S OUR MOVEMENT. RIGHT. AND THEY'RE BABIES ESPECIALLY ARE INNATELY THEY'RE CRAWLING. THEY'RE SQUATTING, THEY'RE LEARNING TO WALK FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND THAT WAS WHEN I REALLY WAS ENTHRALLED WITH ATHENA'S INNATE ATHLETICISM, HONESTLY. SO WE DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A SPECIFIC TRAINING PROGRAM OR CALL IT ANY KIND OF THING. THAT'S FANCY. IT REALLY IS JUST GIVING THEM THE FREEDOM TO TO MOVE. YOU TALKED ABOUT WITH STRONG MAMA HOW YOU REALLY INTENTIONALLY WANTED TO COMBAT ANY KIND OF THOUGHTS SURROUNDING A LACK OF STRENGTH FOR THOSE WHO ARE PREGNANT. AND I THINK THAT THERE'S I KNOW WHEN I WAS PREGNANT, I KNOW FOR MANY OF MY FRIENDS, WE WERE CONCERNED THAT WE DIDN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO HARM THE BABY. AND SO WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR FOR MOM, FOR SOMEBODY WHO'S PREGNANT AND STILL WANTING TO PUSH A LIMIT, BUT NOT GO TOO FAR ? WELL, MOVEMENT HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE VERY BENEFICIAL FOR MOTHER AND BABY. OF COURSE, YOU WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR MEDICAL PROVIDER AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT. BUT I CONTINUED TO TEACH CYCLING AT PELLETIZED AND TO RUN AND STRENGTH TRAIN AND THOSE WERE ALL ACTIVITIES I WAS DOING PRE PREGNANCY. AND , YOU KNOW, OF COURSE, SOME MODIFICATIONS ARE PRUDENCE, BUT WE CAN DO A LOT MORE THAN WE CAN'T DO. SO MY WHOLE PHILOSOPHY WHILE BEING PREGNANT NOW I'M PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND IS FOCUSING ON WHAT I'M CAPABLE OF RATHER THAN LIMITATION. >> YOU'VE EXPRESSED BEFORE THAT YOU WERE MOTIVATED THROUGH TRAUMA, YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY AND HOW IS THAT COME ABOUT AND HOW DO YOU USE THAT TO TO TRY TO HELP MOTIVATE OTHERS? >> I MEAN, MOVEMENT IS HEALING IT FOR ME. IT GAVE ME THE SENSE OF I . FOR ME, MOVEMENT WAS THE CATALYST FROM BEING POWERLESS TO POWERFUL. AND I THINK THAT THAT'S HOW DAILY HOW I TURN PAIN INTO POWER. AND HOPEFULLY IT'S NOT OFTEN ROOTED IN TRAUMA, BUT TO THE EXTENT THAT WE HAVE STUMBLES, I THINK THAT MOVEMENT IS A GREAT WAY TO CHANNEL THE STUFF THAT'S HAPPENING IN LIFE. AND ESPECIALLY AS A PARENT, I BELIEVE THAT MY MENTAL HEALTH IS IS BETTER AND HEALTHIER BECAUSE I HAVE DAILY WORKOUT PRACTICE. AND HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW? BECAUSE YOU'VE ALREADY HAD A TWO YEAR OLD, A BABY TO COME THIS SUMMER. BUT THIS IS KIND OF LIKE GIVING BIRTH IN A WAY TO TO GIVE BIRTH TO THIS PROJECT INTO INTO EXISTENCE. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANTED TO DO CHILDREN'S BOOKS? YOU KNOW, THE OPPORTUNITY CAME TO ME AND I THOUGHT, YEAH, THIS IS STORYTELLING HAS BEEN SUCH A POWERFUL PART OF MY LIFE. AND LIKE I SAID, I DIDN'T REALLY DISCOVER MOVEMENT UNTIL LATER IN LIFE. AND I THOUGHT, OKAY, IF I COULD PUT THIS IN THE HANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE, AND INFUSE IT WITH SOME OF THE MANTRAS THAT I KNOW HAVE HELPED A LOT OF FOLKS, WHY NOT START FROM DAY ONE ? YOU KNOW, FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY HAVE THE POWER AND YOU TALK ABOUT THOSE MANTRAS LIKE NO CHALLENGE, NO CHALLENGE, THAT KIND OF THING. ANY MOTIVATIONAL TIPS FOR PEOPLE THIS TUESDAY WHO MIGHT BE LOOKING TO WHO NEED SOME KIND OF MOTIVATION, SOME KIND OF, I WOULD SAY START SMALL. I CALL THEM BITE SIZED NIBBLES OF HUSSLE. SO EVEN IF YOU'RE JUST GOING OUT FOR TEN MINUTES, IT MATTERS LITTLE BY LITTLE AMOUNTS TO A LOT. AND IT'S POSSIBLE TO TURN DOWN TO DETERMINATION, TAKING THOSE LITTLE BITES OF HUSTLE RUN.
