- And what's your name? - Kellen. - Kellen. [AUDIENCE CHEERS] - Kellen, it's a beautiful name. Kellen, how are you doing? You're doing good? And you're rocking the guitar up here. I see this thing going on. This is all blinged out. WHITNEY DONALDSON: After the first two opening songs, Keith had kind of stopped the concert was talking. He was like, "Oh, there's so many posters in the crowd tonight." I mean, he like goes towards ours and he's like, "I want to ask about this one." And so then he came over. And what did Keith Urban do when he saw you? - Signed my guitar. MAN: He signed your guitar. CHASE HAMMOCK: Signed your guitar? And what else did he do? KELLEN HAMMOCK: Gave me a hug. WHITNEY DONALDSON: He gave you a hug, and what did you tell us after the concert? What did you say? CHASE HAMMOCK: He said, "I got to meet the real life Keith Urban." - I actually at 20 weeks was told that there was something going on with the ventricles in his brain which is what controls the fluid. I actually-- during my labor process is when I found out that he had what they call an encephalocele, which was actually a hole in the skull. And that's what actually caused the excess fluid, which is called hydrocephalus. So they went in and removed the encephalocele. CHASE HAMMOCK: He still lives his best life. He's the happiest kid. And he steals the heart of every person that he comes in contact with. And that's just his personality as a whole. And now he walks into school by himself, carries his book bag like a normal kid, puts his lunchbox up just like a normal kid. No one at school sees him any different than what they are. My mom's husband got him listening to YouTube videos, and Keith Urban came on. And then from that point from listening to that song with him, it's been nonstop since then an obsession with Keith Urban. We had the discussion that we were going to go see Keith Urban. And he was ecstatic, best day of his life. He said he was super excited to go. WHITNEY DONALDSON: It's so cool as a parent to see your kid get to live out his dream. And then for him to ask and Chase to be able to kind of tell Kellen's story and tell all the things he's overcome to get to where he is was super cool because not only did Kellen get to meet his dream, but we got to spread awareness about a diagnosis that doesn't give a lot of light shed on it unfortunately. I always say a diagnosis does not define you and Kellen is living proof of that.
