[MUSIC PLAYING] NARRATOR: It's moving day for 77-year-old Norbert Pikula. This is the man who just a few weeks ago spent his night sleeping at O'Hare, not knowing when or if he'd be able to find stable housing. - Nothing doesn't happen right away. So you have to wait it out. NARRATOR: Now, thanks to your help and the support of his advocate Sarah Boone, Pikula is moving into his new home today. - I'm just amazed by how generous people are. And they don't just give money, they write notes. They-- one woman put them up in a hotel for a few days. - What does it mean to you to not have to live in those conditions anymore? - The only thing I can say that would be called peace of mind. REPORTER: Peace of mind? - Yes. REPORTER: And that's what you're feeling today. - Yes. NARRATOR: Pikula finally has his own bed in Humboldt Park, and says, even though he doesn't know the hundreds who donated, he feels close to all of them. - All the people that have donated to me, they are almost like a family. Almost. REPORTER: Yeah. NOBERT PIKULA: They're pretty close to it. They helped me a lot. Without them, I will be lost. [MUSIC PLAYING]
